Congratulations to our USLS graduating Senior, Iris Martínez, for the EXCELLENCE IN Latinx Studies Award.
Iris, who serves for the US Army, will be graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and Psychology from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and a minor in U.S. Latino/a Studies. After graduation, Iris will continue with her military career in the Iowa Army National Guard as well as working part-time as a first-responder emergency medical technician. She will be applying to medical school, and hopes to start her training to become a physician in the fall of 2025.
