The collected oral histories in this archive have been produced by students in the community engaged/outreach course, USLS/SPAN/ENG 3770: LATINA/O/X LIFE STORIES: Memoirs and Oral Histories. Inspired by the Voces of the Pandemic Oral History archive, based at University of Texas, Austin, (US Latino/a Studies Program ISU is a collaborative partner), students learn the meaning of oral histories, review selections from the Voces of the Pandemic collection, and produce their own oral histories, featuring Latinos/as/x from our extended Iowa communities. It is an active, growing collection as each iteration of the class will produce new oral histories, regularly added at the end of each semester.
